This is a pretty funny promotion put out by Monster.com, one of the internet’s biggest and most popular job portals. Monster is dedicated to helping people find the job of their dreams, and this humorous item definitely communicates that message. Monster wants people to realize that if they aren’t in the right work environment, they won’t be happy. Instead of staying stuck in the wrong job (represented by this pink gun-toting ballerina figure amidst a swarm of dark green soldiers), use Monster’s services to find freedom!

What’s that smell?

Check out this funny ambient promotion that was done by Right Guard, makers of top-selling deodorants and anti-perspirants. To put their product in front of people when it was needed most, Right Guard decided to put a special build on crowded busses and trains. They reasoned that in these cramped spaces, there could be “perspiration emergencies” where sweaty people might create some discomfort for their neighbors.

The special build featured a glass case that held a bottle of Right Guard anti-perspirant spray. A sign above the case told commuters to break the glass in the event of an emergency, and in severe cases, to call a hotline to receive a free sample of the product. The funny campaign was a success, as Right Guard estimated over 800,000 people saw the promotion in a 2-week period. The promo hotline delivered over 6,500 samples, making it one of Right Guard’s most successful media campaigns of the year.

Hand Shadows Promo

Check out this funny schwag from “Shadows.” Since their website is no longer up, I have no idea what the company does, so let’s pretend they are professional funny promo makers. Shadows bundled business cards with a novelty pamphlet that shows how to make various hand shadow puppets.

Another Beer Promo: Guinness Coaster

Here is another really cool beer promo. What better way to promote a beer then with a typical item that is used at bars and restaurants all the time. This promotional coaster was used in a unique way, by having the image written backwards and then incorporating the reflection from a glass. This mirror image creates a really interesting promo.

Here’s a funny little promo that took place on a subway. Though I wish it was real beer, rather than a can of beer through a subway pole. Then again if you drank all those beer cans you may need to use the subway pole to stand.

Heavyweight Bagvertising

Get a handle on bagvertising while the trend is growing strong. I particularly like the cutout design that shapes the dumbbell for this fitness promotion, which ventures outside the boundaries of what we’ve previously seen. When customers lift this bag, they might strain themselves laughing at how sidesplitting this idea appears.
